Local Partner to Lead Statewide Chapter of the PICPA

Lisa A. Myers, CPA, has been elected President of the South Central Chapter of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) for the 2006-2007 fiscal year.

 

Myers is a Partner with the public accounting firm of Boyer & Ritter. She is the Director of Public Sector services for the entire firm as well as Personnel Chair. The Public Sector Services Group conducts business for the Firm from its Camp Hill location. As Director of this business niche, Lisa has oversight and directional responsibilities for all Public Sector Services offered to Boyer & Ritter’s Public Sector clients.  Lisa has over 17 years experience in providing auditing, accounting and consulting services to governmental and non-profit organizations. Lisa has extensive experience serving clients who are subject to the Single Audit Act Requirements.

 

Lisa is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA).  In addition to her role as President, she is an active member of the Executive, Nominations, Social Activities, Legislative and Relations with Schools and Colleges Committees for the South Central Chapter of the PICPA. In addition, Lisa serves on the PICPA State-Wide Local Government and Not-for-Profit Committees. She is a member, Director, and Treasurer of the Pennsylvania Association of Nonprofit Organizations (PANO).  Lisa has been a reviewer for GFOA’s Popular Annual Financial Reporting (PAFR) Award Program since 2002. Lisa serves jointly on the Audit and Finance Committees of the Carlisle Area Health and Wellness Foundation. Lisa was selected as one of Pennsylvania’s Best 50 Women in Business for 2001. She has also received the Distinguished Alumni Award from her High School in Mount Union, Pennsylvania. Myers is a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.

 

In her role as President, she will advocate for the future of the accounting profession. “Our profession is in need of MORE movers and shakers – those who are willing to lead.” “The field of accounting is in high demand and the search is on for the best and brightest to pass the torch.” “I believe as CPAs, it is our duty and obligation to increase awareness, participation, and encourage other professionals to advance their careers.”
